Is a guy that was raised in an unstable home going to be a bad boyfriend/husband?

he has an emotionally abusive dad, his dad is so disrespectful to his mother, calls her fatass a whore, lazy, a bitc*h, a c*unt, and always fighting with her. and cheated on her. they just got their divorce finalized today. is he going to be like this with me if i start a relationship with him? does he think this is the way to treat a woman? should i avoid any kind of relationship with him ? im just trying to be careful.. i dont want to get involved in any way with him if he is going to be like this.. he seems like a nice guy but i dont know him too well. and i dont want a bad future. at all. so im trying to avoid getting involved so i dont become stupid and be stuck with an abuser just cause im 'in love' with him. but are all guys who lived in an unstable environment growing up going to turn out just like their father, cause thats all they knew growing up? hes 19 btw
