California child support?

How long does it take for the child support process? So far my daughters father has been served. He signed a declaration of paternity at the hospital so the paternity shouldn't be an issue. the local child support agency said the paperwork has been submitted to the courts but there may be a back log and couldnt provide me with a date i should receive some sort of update. I filed back in March how much longer do you think I will be waiting for the whole process to be finalized?
